Libraries Unlimited – supporting the community during COVID19
07 May 2020
‘Public buildings, including libraries closed following the Covid19 pandemic to ensure the health and safety of the public says, Rosie Gitsham, Fundraising Assistant, at Libraries Unlimited, who are a registered charity responsible for running Devon Libraries and Torbay Libraries.
‘We have kept our virtual library service open, providing e-books, audiobooks and magazines, along with reference subscriptions, including access to Ancestry Library Edition.
‘Our library staff are in telephone and email contact with their vulnerable customers and we are encouraging our volunteers to phone our readers regularly to have a social chat and to check in.
‘We are also creating fun online content and live streaming events each week. Choose from Bounce & Rhyme, Story Time, Language Cafes, Reading Groups, Online Quizzes, Staff Book Recommendations and much more.
