Torbay Lottery – Small Grant Fund awards 2022/2023

Eighteen local good causes have been successful in obtaining a small grant award from the Torbay Lottery Small Grants Fund for 2022/2023.  

This year, the fund raised £12,000 through ticket sales from the Torbay Lottery which will be used to help organisations provide valued support and services to communities.

The lucky organisations to benefit are:

·         PHAB Torbay (£800)

·         Disabled Sailing Association (£800)

·         Torbay Street Pastors (£800)

·         Brixham Operatic & Dramatic Society (BOADS) (£500)

·         Torquay United Indoor Bowls Club (£800)

·         Thrive Project (£700)

·         Orchard Forest School CIC (£1,000)

·         Dart Netball (£500)

·         Step One Char (£800)

·         Living Down South (£400)

·         People’s Parkfield (£600)

·         CHAD (Torbay Handicapped Community Centre Project) (£500)

·         Cycle Torbay (£600)

·         Daisi (£800)

·         Torbay Olympic Gymnasts Club (£400)

·         Paignton Amateur Rowing Club (£700)

·         Children’s Week Torbay (£500)

Anne-Marie Bond, Member of the Small Grants Fund Panel said: “The Torbay Lottery continues to be a great initiative and we are so pleased to be able to support so many local good causes and community groups in this way.  To date we have given out over £67,000 in funding from the Small Grants Fund.

“We are always looking for new local groups to join the lottery and benefit from monthly income generated through ticket sales as well as through the Small Grants Fund which is opened at the start of each year for local groups to bid for up to £2,000 towards the cost of specific items. The Torbay Lottery is a council initiative, empowering local groups to generate vital funds in a fun and effective way, while enabling players to support the causes they care about the most.  

In total, 144 causes are currently signed up and the Torbay Lottery has raised nearly £200,300.  

There are currently 558 players signed up to it and 1036 tickets in play.
