We are a local dementia group who are fortunate enough now to be global, all this is due to the wornderful people of Torbay and thier continuing support. Each one of us are volunteers and none of us has a paid job for what we do, we do it becuase we care about those with dementia.
Our memory cafe every saturday (Except the 1st saturday of the month ) at Barton Baptist church, happaway Road, Torquay is free to all along with free tea coffee cake and sometimes entertainment You certainly dont have to have a diagnosis of dementia to come along, anybody with memory problems no matter what age are welcome as are all carers and loved ones even if they only want to pop in for a brew and some information.
WE have never applied for funding or grants and rely totally on public donations so your support will be so much appreciated , please take a look at our website and see what we do in Torbay and around the world
Thank you so much
Norman (Norrms ) Mc Namara
I was also myself diagnosed with dementia aged just 50yrs old, nine years ago.
