About us

Since 1995 the South Western Ambulance Charity has been 'going the extra mile' for the staff and volunteers of the South Western Ambulance Service and the communities that we serve.

As a registered charity we raise funds to help the NHS go even further to benefit patients. We do this by:

Supporting our exceptional people - we extend support and services available to our exceptional people, staff and volunteers, to help them with their physical health and mental well-being.

Supporting communities - to improve cardiac arrest survival rates with defibrillator placement, maintenance and training. We help communities to learn life-saving CPR.

Supporting our volunteer Community First Responders (CFRs) - these volunteers operate in their communities, providing lifesaving emergency aid ahead of ambulance arrival. CFRs help to save lives, reduce pain and provide reassurance to those requiring emergency care. Donations provide enhanced equipment and training. CFRs can be called on day or night and as the most rural Ambulance Service in England, the contribution of the CFRs is invaluable.

How we use Torbay Lottery donations

Donations are ring-fenced for use in the Torbay area to 'go the extra mile' for our ambulance service staff and volunteers, and the community that we serve.

We need your help so we can continue to offer our services.

Thank you for your support and good luck!
